Sowing Seeds of Hope in the Holy Land

Shalom, dear friends,

As we look back on 2025, we are filled with overwhelming gratitude for God’s provision and for your faithful partnership. In a year of continued challenges, your prayers and support have been a shining light, allowing Leket Israel to answer the biblical call to care for the poor, the widow, and the orphan in the land of Israel.

You have been the hands and feet of Jesus, enabling us to glean the fields and ensure that none of God’s bounty goes to waste. Because of you, hundreds of thousands of Israelis have been fed, not just with food, but with hope and dignity. Here is a look at the miraculous harvest you helped make possible this year.

Answering the Call: Rescuing a Record Harvest

Just as Boaz instructed his workers to leave grain for Ruth, you have empowered us to rescue a historic amount of fresh, healthy produce for those in need. Your stewardship has turned potential waste into a blessing for countless families.

  • A Miraculous Provision: From January to September, an incredible 60.7 million pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables were distributed to Israelis in need.

  • A 59% Increase in Rescued Food: A staggering 54.8 million pounds of this produce was rescued directly from farms and packing houses—a 59% increase from last year! This is a direct result of your generosity in action.

  • A Warm Meal, A Warm Heart: You also helped provide over 1.68 million hot, nutritious meals, rescuing food from hotels and cafeterias to bring comfort and strength to the hungry.

An Army of Compassion: Your Hands in the Harvest Field

When Israel’s farms faced a critical labor shortage due to the ongoing conflict, you helped us mobilize an army of volunteers to step into the gap, ensuring the fields could be harvested so the nation could be fed.

  • Volunteers Answer the Call: A remarkable 85,594 volunteers served at our logistics centers and in the fields this year.

  • Saving the Harvest, Securing the Nation: Since the war began, our “Farm Hands for Israel” program has sent approximately 130,000 volunteers to farms, heroically harvesting over 33 million pounds of produce. This is a beautiful picture of the body of Christ coming together to be a blessing to Israel in her time of need.

A Table Prepared: Restoring Dignity and Joy

Your support goes beyond just food; it restores tradition, honors Israel’s defenders, and invests in the next generation.

Celebrating the High Holidays with Honor

For Rosh Hashanah, the “Leket & Honey” initiative you supported was a lifeline. Over 64,000 vulnerable families—including the elderly, the homebound, and those displaced by war—received boxes filled with symbolic foods like apples, honey, dates, and pomegranates. You allowed them to celebrate this sacred holiday with the joy and dignity every child of God deserves.

Standing with Israel’s Defenders

As a testament to your unwavering support for those who protect the Holy Land, you helped us provide for the families of long-term IDF reservists. Over 1,500 families received supermarket vouchers during the holiday season, a practical and powerful way to say “thank you” for their sacrifice and to ease their burdens.

Sowing Seeds for a Healthy Future

You are also investing in the future of Israel through our Leket Briut program. Operating in schools in disadvantaged communities, this program provides fresh produce boxes and nutrition education. A recent study showed 40% of the students increased their daily fruit and vegetable intake thanks to this program. You are helping raise up a healthier, stronger generation for Israel.

Looking Ahead to a Continued Harvest of Hope

As we move into the final months of the year, our hearts are full. Every meal delivered, every field gleaned, and every family blessed is a testament to God’s faithfulness and your incredible generosity. The successes of this year are not just numbers on a page; they represent lives touched and hope restored across the Holy Land.

The fall season in Israel is a special time of reflection and thanksgiving, and we are already preparing to meet the needs that lie ahead. We trust that with your continued prayers and encouragement, we will be able to bring the joy and nourishment of the harvest to many more families during the upcoming holidays and beyond.

Thank you for your profound love for Israel and her people. Your partnership is a beautiful reflection of God’s care for His chosen land.

May the Lord bless you and keep you.
